  1. Lead Software Engineer, BridgeOTW Team

    May 2026 - Present · Hybrid

    Leading 3 engineers alongside a PM and UI/UX designer on a realtime bed availability platform for Bridge Over Troubled Waters, a Boston nonprofit serving young adults experiencing homelessness

    • Architected the platform using Next.js, TypeScript, and Supabase, including a live availability system that tracks all 12 beds in real time, displays claim indicators, and automatically locks unclaimed beds at 9:00 p.m
    • Built a waitlist system that tracks each person’s position when beds are full before the 9:00 p.m. cutoff
    • Implemented a status-lookup tool with flexible authentication through either an access code or phone verification, supporting equitable access for people with different devices and documentation circumstances

    • Developed a staff portal for managing beds, user accounts, and system operations, including an activity log that supports shelter reporting for funding and donation efforts
    • Partnered with the PM to scope features and resolve product questions, including privacy tradeoffs between a live dashboard and a camera feed

    Lead a team of 3 engineers alongside a PM, and UI/UX designer on building a full-stack phonics web app for 2nd‑grade classrooms at a Massachusetts elementary school, replacing disruptive physical letter tiles that get lost, knocked apart, and slow down group instruction

    • Built the core digital letter board in Next.js and TypeScript with dnd-kit, letting students construct and deconstruct words to practise digraphs and vowel teams using Duolingo style games that can be created through the teacher portal
    • Modelled teacher accounts and lesson relations in Supabase (Postgres).
    • Set up a CI/CD workflow on GitHub Actions with Snyk and ESLint for security and reliability

    • Built a new admin panel in Strapi CMS with role-based access control mapped to e-board roles
    • Moved 85% of site content into Strapi, reducing developer maintenance
    • Rebuilt the frontend in React with responsive design and improved navigation, increasing application engagement by 100+ clicks

Two years teaching high-school computer science, and the reason I can lead a team and explain concepts effectively.

I teach year-long high-school classes in AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A, and AP Cybersecurity working through Python, JavaScript, and Java. Before that I taught an Introduction to JavaScript course to middle schoolers, building the projects they used to practice on.

Executed lesson plans, managed classwork and helped and prepared students for the AP exams, strengthening their problem-solving, programming, algorithmic-thinking, and defensive-security skills.

Standing in front of a class that is still learning computer science demands a level of clarity that carries directly into engineering: reviewing pull requests, scoping features with nonprofit clients, communicating effectively on a team, and making thoughtful decisions about how systems should be built.
